Edited by: Seeker Ash on 13/10/2008 20:12:26 Wow, 25 pages of complants. Here's one more. You'll probably still get my money, though you're losing my respect for every minute that I don't see you admitting the only reason for this change is to get more money.
You used to be cool, CCP. You had a hard ****ing game where people had to work for every bullet we wanted to shoot and you didn't seem to care how many people liked it, just how much we liked it. Which is a fine and honorable way to do great work. But you've turned from artists to businessmen, and as it turns out very bad businessman, unless this change is followed by the much-wished-for-but-previously-unthinkable skill queue. _________________ "Even space ships pilots get the blues." |

Let's examine the supposed reason to remove ghost training: The unfair advantage it gives over players who play all the time.
On one hand we have player Cheapass, who goes on a 3 month break while training skill X. On the other hand is player Hardcore, who grinds let's say 100 million stardollars a day, along with unspecified amounts of faction standings, corp credibility and maybe even learns a thing or two about the game through hard-earned experience, while keeping up with in-game events on both galactic and personal scale. Is Hardcore really at a disadvantage here? Maybe using up real world money gives you a disadvantage of some sort. _________________ "Even space ships pilots get the blues." |

Originally by: Yakumo Smith I pay for my accounts, I don't shadow train, I don't care that people do it, but twice now you've made me doubt that you'll be around in 3 years time and now i'm forced to consider if playing for another 2 years in this game is worth my while should it disappear down the pan. Your making me think "am I going to regret spending 2 years planning to be left with nothing?"
Congrats CCP Fallout, I really hope someone gave you that script to post as if not you've pretty much destroyed my faith in you guys being around long term.
An exceptionally good point. I've believed that Eve would always be there, and develop as computer power will, and what grand things would come of that. I've thought that the day would come when we could leave our ships and go on adventures on all of the many thousands of planets; that Eve would continue to push against the limits of technology and imagination and let us believe that there are amazing things in this world.
But now all I can think of is will the game still run five years from now? Or two years? It seems like an overreaction to a small disappointment, but just the announcment of planning this possible change is indicating a game in decay. "Already the world seems a little less bright", as it were.

Me mind is made up. Until there's a revolutionary planetside expansion that makes the game explosively popular and cements its future existence, I'm going on a break.
Yeah, I say when and not if, I still have hope the game will survive, just not enough that I want to risk giving it any commitment. _________________ "Even space ships pilots get the blues." |
